The Product

The cosmetics company Oggi, entrusted me with the creation of its own retail eCommerce platform. With 22 branches across Greece, Oggi needed a digital sales channel that stands out for its modern design and a wide range of features. The client assigned the task of developing a dynamic and user-friendly e-shop aimed at enhancing its online presence and increasing sales through the internet.

The project included the development of multiple advanced features, including AJAX functionalities, integration with a bank for card payments, support for two languages and many more.

Challenges

During the creation of the e-shop, I faced various challenges related to platform speed and responsiveness, payment security, the site’s bilingual capability, and the need for seamless functionality across multiple device types. I had to ensure that all features were fully integrated to provide a smooth and enjoyable user experience.

Description of Features

The company’s eCommerce system stands out due to a list of features that give it uniqueness as well as implementation complexity. I created a modern and flexible e-shop using the latest technologies and trends in web design. The platform’s architecture allows for easy management of products and orders. Below are some of the features/functions we implemented.

Shop by Brand

I put together an automated process for creating “Shop by Brand” pages. When the admin adds a new brand to the platform, a dedicated page for that brand’s products is automatically generated. During product addition, the admin can select the product’s brand, and the product will automatically appear on the relevant brand page, making it easier for users to navigate and find products from specific brands.

Custom Post Type: Stores

I created a custom post type, “Stores” for the easy addition and management of the chain’s locations. This allows the client to update the platform with new store locations effortlessly.

Automated Store Pin to Map

I integrated an automatic store mapping feature with pins on the homepage. When administrators add a new store location to the platform, its information is automatically added to the map. Users can view and locate all chain stores based on their location.

The creation of such a large and multi-functional platform is complemented by a comprehensive digital marketing plan to support the company’s digital presence. The main goals are to increase brand awareness, inform the existing audience about the brand’s new digital presence, and attract new ideal customers with the right characteristics.
